Simon Cowell – The X Factor 2010

Over the last few months, various reports have surfaced which said Simon Cowell is currently modernising his new $22 million mansion in Beverly Hills. Simon appears from the outside to be a very lavish man, he gives the impression he loves himself, and if there’s anything which can show this, its the fact he has installed his own private tanning salon in the property.

Simon has spent nearly two years working on the house. He has raised the original structure to give the mansion 24ft tall windows in the living room, allowing Simon gorgeous  sweeping views over Los Angeles. With all the modernisation complete, Simon Cowell is now ready to move into the lavish 11,500 square foot estate, which originally cost him $12 million dollars. Simon’s neighbours include high profile celebrities such as Tom Cruise, Madonna, Ozzy & Sharon Osbourne and the Beckhams.

Simon said in a recent interview: “I look out over the Hollywood Hills into my neighbors’ gardens, it’s an amazing view.” The views aren’t quite good enough to “see into their homes” he said,  “so you can’t see them in the shower – but you can see into their gardens. It’s great fun. I just like to keep an eye on what is happening.” He also described the estate as his “dream home.“

The five-bedroom mansion boasts such features as a state-of-the-art gymnasium in the basement, a luxury spa complete with a steam room, a custom-designed media room with a marble bar and a leather sofa seating 20 guests. The property also has a gallery for Simon’s Gold and Platinum Awards & Records, and an indoor lap pool. The lavish home also has a separate staff quarters containing a servants kitchen for his live-in butler and maids. The pool features a retractable roof, wet bar and changing rooms, and there’s a putting green at the rear of the property.

Simon currently lives in a £3.4million home in Beverly Hills. He is also building a £9million home in Barbados where he has another smaller £2.1 million place. His main UK property is a £7.5million house in London’s upmarket Holland Park. He has a weekend home in Malaga and a £1million investment property on the Palm Jumeirah island in Dubai.
